Summer party
Nicht nur Pflanzen, auch Reptilien lassen sich an diesem Sonntag hautnah im Botanischen Garten erleben
Gärtnerin Birgit Kempe informiert über Tomatenvielfalt
On the last Sunday of summer break, the Botanical Garden invites you to its traditional summer festival , as it does every year.
From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., local clubs and organizations will present informative exhibits on the world of plants and animals.
The program features numerous hands-on activities, especially for families with children. In addition to orchids, cacti, and carnivorous plants , visitors can also get up close and personal with reptiles. “Bakteriopolis” offers a chance to dive into the world of microbes. Anyone interested in learning more about incorporating legumes into their diet should head to the Saxony Consumer Advice Center’s booth. At the Meissen Hahnemann Center, visitors can make herbal salt under expert guidance. Culinary delights are also on offer: while supplies last, the Friends of the Botanical Garden will be serving herbal sandwiches and cakes, coffee, fruit juices, and non-alcoholic cocktails. Away from the hustle and bustle, the Botanical Garden also offers green oases of tranquility on the day of the event for anyone who simply wants to “enjoy the plants.”
