Project Description
The project aims to develop innovative, lightweight composite elements consisting of thin glass panes and additively manufactured polymer structures for fall-protection (guarding) parapet applications. The system is based on a hybrid configuration featuring a thermally stable, 3D-printed polymer core manufactured using the FDM process and comparatively thin glass panes applied to both sides. The glass panes can be designed as laminated safety glass or single-pane glass. The overall objective is to develop an aesthetically sophisticated, load-bearing, and safety-compliant composite system in accordance with DIN 18008-4.
