Program Content
In the Master’s program in Business Administration, you will receive a solid, research-oriented education in management. You will acquire the methodological and technical knowledge needed to analyze complex business problems and develop proposed solutions. You’ll have access to a wide range of business administration topics, allowing you to delve deeper into those that align with your own interests.

Academic Organization
A total of 120 credit points are awarded in the Master’s program in Business Administration. The standard duration of study is therefore 4 semesters as a full-time student, although flexible part-time study is also possible. Please visit our Part-Time Study webpage for more information. Elective-Required Modules
The degree program has a clear and simple structure. There are no required modules; instead, there is a very extensive range of elective courses covering various fields and credit requirements, as well as the master’s thesis. You can find more information about the elective courses here.

Master’s Thesis
In your Master’s thesis, you will independently address a business administration research question using scientific methods. The project takes 16 weeks to complete and is worth 20 credit points. It typically marks the completion of your degree program.
For methodological and thematic support, you will take the appropriate modules in the area of research design. There, you will learn about relevant research methods and have the opportunity to present and discuss interim results of your master’s thesis.
Prerequisites: At least 75 credit points, including 5 credit points from the “Presenting and Discussing” area. You must begin the thesis no later than the semester following the successful completion of your last module exam.

Study Abroad and Dual Degrees
Want to study abroad for a semester or longer? The faculty offers you numerous opportunities—with over 60 Erasmus partner universities and additional partnerships worldwide.
The International Office supports you from the initial idea through your return to Germany. Thanks to the flexible elective-required course structure, credits earned abroad can be easily transferred. Financial support is provided by programs such as PROMOS and the Prof. Endriss Prize, among others .
The dual-degree programs with partner universities in Trento, Pavia, and Strasbourg are particularly attractive. In these programs, you’ll spend a year abroad and earn a master’s degree from both universities.
