to a series of lectures and demonstrations as part of the series
“Industrial Property Rights in Practice (Patents - Trademarks - Designs)”
with the following sessions:
Part I - Patents and Utility Models

Part II – Patent Searches
Wed., Nov. 4, 2026, 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Part III – Trademarks and Designs
Wed., Nov. 11, 2026, 1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
We cordially invite you to attend. The events are repeated at regular intervals, so you can make up any missed sessions at any time. Here you will find a registration form for Parts I through III.
Part II – Patent Searches on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, 2:00 p.m. to approx. 5:00 p.m.
In this combination of seminar and hands-on workshop, participants will have the opportunity to practice the various types of patent searches themselves on a computer!

Content:
- International and national patent classification systems
- Search strategies
- Subject-matter searches
- Name, family, patent statistics, and patent citation searches
- Advantages and disadvantages of free and commercial patent databases
- A variety of search examples
The event will be held as a hybrid event.
The virtual portion will take place via an online tool. An internet connection, as well as speakers and a microphone, are required to participate.
You will need internet access to work during your internship.
Individuals with access to the eduroam Wi-Fi service have free internet access in the SLUB building.
Individuals without access to eduroam must obtain a SLUB card (free of charge). You can then use the user number on the SLUB card to access the SLUB Wi-Fi.

You will then receive a code. Take this code to the service desk at the OSL no later than Wednesday, November 4, around 1:30 p.m., to pick up your SLUB card.

Please note that Part II builds on the knowledge covered in Part I.
During the sessions, you are welcome to bring up your own problems and topics and ask as many questions as you like. A certificate of participation can be issued upon request.

Fees
A fee of 59.50 EUR (including 19% VAT) is charged per seminar session. Affiliates and students of TU Dresden are exempt from this fee.
