Information about the Chair
The Chair of Sociology of Global Cultures and Qualitative Social Research focuses its research and teaching on methods of qualitative interpretive social research, methodological triangulation, reconstructive biography research, and qualitative methods for studying migration and transnationalism.
In addition, her research and teaching focus on the sociology of migration and the sociology of transnationalization, transnational families, intra-European migration, transnational social support, and (in)formal social security in the context of mobility regimes.
The chair is held by Prof. Dr. Rosa Brandhorst.
The secretariat is headed by Annika Fischer. The chair is part of the Institute of Sociology in the Faculty of Philosophy at TU Dresden.
