#51 Good wishes // Village fair 2.0
We receive and give good wishes and compliments far too rarely. Yet even a single smile can help to improve the atmosphere in a place and strengthen relationships. We think this is reason enough to think about formats and ways to promote this wonderful effect.
So why not, for example, put the entire (village) festival under this motto and, for the duration of the festival, establish the rule of ending every conversation, however brief, with encouraging or appreciative words or a kind wish? Anyone who breaks the rule could have to buy the "wrong" person a round or perform another service for the benefit of the community (e.g. clearing beer tables for 15 minutes, etc.).
However, a writing workshop of good wishes and compliments could also be installed, in which the participants write small encouraging messages or even poems under professional guidance, which find their way to the addressees on postcards or are recited as part of a program item at the village festival (e.g. as part of a poetry slam).
Another possibility could also be to commission a poetry slamer or word artist to accompany the village festival and look for situations and conversations in which cordial, cooperative or constructive cooperation becomes visible in order to reflect this to the festival participants in an entertaining way in a poetic evening program. This not only offers the opportunity to make identification offers visible, but is also a nice way to honor cooperation for the common good.
