Welcome to the alumni page of the Center for International Studies (ZIS). Our alumni community is a central part of ZIS. Together, we aim to foster mutually beneficial exchanges between former and current students and keep the connection to ZIS and TU Dresden alive.

This page offers you the opportunity to learn about the alumni network, ways to stay in touch, and career prospects.

Alumni for Students

An excellent way to stay connected to ZIS is to get involved in the mentoring program or the “From ZIS to the World” event series, thereby giving current students insight into the world after graduation—and, where applicable, offering tips along the way.

Event Series: “From ZIS to the World”

An integral part of our alumni work is the event series “From ZIS to the World.” Each semester, former ZIS students share their professional experiences and provide insights into their career paths. These talks offer inspiration and guidance to current students and foster exchange between different graduating classes. If you’re interested in giving a talk about your professional journey or your experiences, please feel free to contact us.

The IB program prepared me very well for my German-French Master's degree, as well as for starting my career at the...

Think Tank Centre for Feminist Foreign Policy (CFFP). Thanks to my studies and the valuable exchange with my fellow students - many of whom I can now call my friends - I have learned to quickly familiarize myself with complex issues, to critically question explanatory approaches and to think about political, economic and legal problems together. I now experience international relations first hand every day...

"As a legal officer at the European Commission, I work with colleagues from all over Europe on the implementation and further development of EU chemicals legislation. The IB degree program trained me to quickly familiarize myself with new and complex issues and to bring together solutions from different departments. These skills are essential in my job." - Miriam Stahlhacke (MA 2020)

... in Richtung 100% Nachhaltigkeit. - Nanda Bergstein (BA 2000)
