Previous test bench setups
The following test stands are currently not in use but can be reactivated.
Linear Cascade Wind Tunnel (GWK)
- Continuously operating, open wind tunnel
- Operates from the low-speed range up to high-subsonic flow rates via an optional blower or compressor drive
- Testing of turbine or
compressor bladings - Simulation of rotor-stator interaction
using moving bar wake generator
Transonic Turbine Cascade (TTGWK)

Deflector Cascade Wind Tunnel (UGWK)
- Continuously operating, open wind tunnel in suction mode (Eiffel tunnel)
- Low Mach number; low inflow turbulence
- Investigation of turbine or compressor cascades
- Scaled steam turbine control valve for the experimental investigation of the valve’s unsteady operating behavior
