Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry welcomes delegation from Monash University
The Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry at TU Dresden, Bernd Plietker, signs a student-exchange-agreement in the presence of the Head of International Affairs at the Faculty of Chemistry, Monash University Kellie Tuck.
On 17 September 2026, the Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry had the privilege of hosting an outstanding delegation of chemists from the Monash University in Melbourne – invited by the International Affairs Officer at the School of Science Jan J. Weigand. The Monash University is one of Australia’s premier research institutions and a member of the prestigious Group of Eight (Go8) – the alliance of the eight most research‑intensive universities in the country.
The visitors were Kellie Tuck, Head of International Affairs at the School of Chemistry; Phil Andrews, Head of School; Andrea Robinson, Deputy Head of School; and Paul White, her husband, who is also a chemist at RMIT in Melbourne.
The focus of her visit was to strengthen cooperation in the field of internationalisation and create concrete opportunities for students to study at the partner campus. Following the meeting with the International Office, the Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry at TU Dresden – Bernd Plietker – gave the delegation a tour of the historic dye collection. This is also a highlight for non-chemists – it’s well worth a visit!
In addition to meeting with the International Office, Bernd Plietker (the dean of the faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry at Technische Universität Dresden) showed us the historical collection of dyes. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for giving us an insight into this fantastic exhibition, which I cannot recommend highly enough. In this context, a student-exchange-agreement for students of chemistry and food chemistry has been signed, thereby strengthening the partnership between the two universities.
