Short Biography:

Julia Nadine Köhler (née Doetsch) earned her Bachelor of Science (BSc) in European Public Health and her Master of Science (MSc) in Global Health from Maastricht University’s Faculty of Medicine, Health, and Life Sciences. As part of her degree program, she completed one semester of study with a focus on epidemiology at the University of Eastern Finland, two semesters of study with core research areas at the University of Coimbra, and the Global Health Learning Symposium at McMaster, Thammasat, Manipal, and Maastricht Universities. From 2016 to 2024, she worked as a Research Associate on three EU projects and, since 2018, has been employed at the Instituto de Saúde Pública of the University of Porto (ISPUP) in the Epidemiological Research Unit. At the same time, she pursued her Ph.D. at the Care and Public Health Institute (CAPHRI) at Maastricht University and completed her dissertation, supervised by ISPUP and CAPHRI, in 2023. Since December 2024, she has been a Research Associate in the Chair of Behavioral Epidemiology at TU Dresden. Her research interests lie at the intersection of public health, health policy, health inequity, and (behavioral) epidemiology. |
