Doctoral candidates in the Faculty of Psychology should note that, in addition to the doctoral regulations, they must also follow the procedural guidelines for doctoral studies at the Faculty of Psychology and the guidelines regarding dissertations.

Please note that for publication-based dissertations, publications in so-called predatory journals may result in the rejection of the dissertation. Before submitting manuscripts to journals, please verify their status, e.g., on the

As of June 1, 2021, the procedural guidelines for implementing the GWP’s bylaws in doctoral programs at the Faculty of Psychology have been in effect. Please review these guidelines before submitting your applications for admission and to initiate your dissertation.
Please note the following addition to the doctoral regulations:

• Two advisors are required for the doctoral project in order for the student to be accepted as a doctoral student.
• Doctoral candidates are required to provide proof of participation in a course on good scientific practice lasting at least one day in order to initiate the process.
• The dissertation must be reviewed by an external reviewer. To check the criteria for external reviewers, please use this form
