RepairCafé on campus

If your household appliance stops working or you need to do some sewing, a visit to the RepairCafé on campus can now help. This self-help workshop helps visitors, under the guidance of tech-savvy volunteers, hopefully get their broken appliance working again.

The RepairCafé takes place on campus every third Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Anyone who would like free assistance and advice with repairs is welcome. The RepairCafé is a regular repair event held at the SLUB Makerspace in the Drepunct Library (Zellescher Weg 17). Support is provided not only by volunteers from the RepairCafé Dresden/Freital initiative but also by SLUB staff, who contribute their expertise and equipment—ranging from 3D printers to sewing machines.

In addition to repairs, however, the café atmosphere is also a central focus. Over coffee and cake, RepairCafé visitors are encouraged to strike up conversations with one another.
