StuRa Barracks - Playground
For decades, the old StuRa barracks shaped campus life at TU Dresden. With its demolition in the summer of 2026, it will make way for the new Project House Future, and with it, our “Campus-KISTE” playground .
That’s why a new playground for young and old alike will be built elsewhere: a family-friendly gathering place right in the middle of campus. Every financial contribution helps. We need your support to make this happen!
A highlight: the auction of extraordinary, one-of-a-kind items. In the workshops, construction elements from the StuRa barracks were transformed into individual and unique works of art, which can be purchased on a donation basis.
When: Friday , October 30, 2026, 4:00 p.m.
Where: Neue Mensa, Bergstr. 51, 01069 Dresden
What: An inspiring evening, extraordinary exhibits, great conversations, and the opportunity to take a piece of StuRa history home with you.
Registration: Please register for the event using the online registration form.
Preserving Memories: Using selected objects and structural elements from the StuRa barracks— #linoleumfloor #toxic-free —the workshops at TU Dresden have created one-of-a-kind pieces: unique works of art with character, history, and a connection to our campus.
Raising Funds: Together with the StuRa and the Studentenwerk, we cordially invite you to discover these special works at a charity auction on October 30, 2026 , and bid on them for a good cause. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the project to build a new playground on campus. By making a donation, you not only acquire an extraordinary work of art but also support a place that fosters community, family-friendliness, and a vibrant campus life.
Strengthening our community: Whether you’re an alumnus, student, staff member, or friend of TU Dresden—together, we want to preserve memories of a special place while investing in the future of our campus.
We look forward to welcoming many supporters who, through their donations, will help our new playground grow.
